Follow-up on the FETPV program meeting

The "Follow-up on the FETPV program meeting" is to take place in July 2014 in China (exact location to be decided). The meeting will be held together together with the already scheduled FETPV meeting (where China Animal Health and Epidemiology Center (CAHEC), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Royal Veterinary College (RVC) and Centre de Coopération Internationale en Recherché Agronomique pour le Développement (CIRAD) are involved). The postponement of the meeting will not affect the related deliverable that is due by M12.

A meeting will be organized between the main FETPV partners to provide recommendations to organize further workshops and training sessions. The Field Epidemiology Training Programme for Veterinarians (FETPV) is an in-service epidemiology training programme designed for veterinary services agents. The RVC and CIRAD provide the instruction for this training, which is organized in China by FAO Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD) China and the China Animal Health and Epidemiology Center. The curriculum covers numerous features of epidemiology: basic concepts, statistics, epidemiological surveillance, diagnostic tests, risk analysis, outbreak surveys, participatory epidemiology, economics, wildlife diseases, etc.
