Monthly Bulletin from FAO ECTAD China (November)

November issue of FAO ECTAD China bulletin includes updates on:

  • LinkTADs Policy event on African Swine Fever in Beijing held on November 17th, 2014;

Representatives from the veterinary services in Poland and South-East Asian countries, Veterinary Bureau of the MoA of China, the European Union (EU), the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), FAO, and experts on ASF attended the meeting.

  • China FETPV Introductory Course and Second Annual Seminar

A total of 41 trainees from national, provincial and municipal veterinary organizations attended the training. The main topics were veterinary epidemiology and epidemiological thinking, principles of diagnostic testing, secondary data analysis, outbreak investigation, surveillance, risk analysis and One Health.

  • Training on African Swine Fever (ASF) Epidemiology and Risk Assessment

The training on African Swine Fever (ASF) Epidemiology and Risk Assessment was held in Beijing from 19th to 21st November 2014. Around 40 participants attended the event.

  • FAO attendance at the Symposium on Transboundary Animal Diseases in Qingdao

 Peste des petits Ruminants (PPR) had been a particular topic for the symposium.
